A 24-year-old woman has accused three Muslim men of drugging, rape, blackmail and forced religious conversion. What does the viral video show, and what evidence are police now examining?

MAHARASHTRA: Nagpur Police have registered a case against three persons after a 24-year-old woman, who is married to an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer, alleged that she was drugged, raped, blackmailed with obscene videos, extorted of more than ₹3 lakh, and pressured to convert her religion.

The FIR names Ayyaz Taj Madare (26), Ameen Shaikh (30), and a Madhya Pradesh-based cleric identified as Hazrat Maulana. Police have arrested Madare and Shaikh, while Hazrat Maulana is currently absconding.

The case gained public attention after a video surfaced on social media. The video allegedly shows the woman pleading to be released while Madare holds her hands and chants Islamic verses. Police have stated that the video was submitted by the complainant as evidence and is currently being verified as part of the investigation.

According to the complaint filed on June 13, 2026, the woman works in the property business and knew Madare from school. She alleged that in February 2025, Madare contacted her on the pretext of purchasing a plot. He allegedly called her to a hotel on Wardha Road and offered her juice mixed with an intoxicating substance.

The woman claimed that after losing consciousness, she was raped. She further alleged that photographs and videos of the assault were recorded without her consent and later used to blackmail her.

According to the complaint, the accused threatened to circulate the videos and send them to her husband, who is posted outside Nagpur with the Indian Air Force. She alleged that these threats were used to repeatedly sexually exploit her and force her to part with money. The FIR states that more than ₹3 lakh was allegedly collected from her.

One of the most serious allegations relates to an alleged attempt to convert the woman’s religion. According to police, the complainant stated that on May 31 she was taken to Kalmeshwar, where rituals were conducted by Hazrat Maulana. She alleged that she was forced to repeatedly say “Qabul hai” during the ceremony.

The woman claimed that she was declared converted and married to Madare against her wishes. She further alleged that she was forced to eat meat and was later taken to a hotel where she was raped again.

The FIR also includes allegations that the accused subjected her to practices described as hypnosis and black magic. Based on these allegations, police have invoked provisions of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act.

In addition, offences relating to rape, extortion, criminal intimidation and attempted religious conversion have been included in the case.

Police officials said they are examining electronic devices, financial records, and the viral video while also recording statements of witnesses. The investigation remains ongoing.

As with every criminal case, the allegations recorded in the FIR are claims made by the complainant. The guilt or innocence of the accused will ultimately be determined through investigation and judicial proceedings based on evidence presented before the court.
