Celina Files 50 Crore Domestic Violence Case in Mumbai Court

Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly has filed a domestic violence case against her husband Peter Haag, demanding ₹50 crore compensation along with monthly maintenance. The Mumbai court has issued notice and the next hearing is scheduled for December 12.

MAHARASHTRA: Bollywood actress Celina Jaitly has filed a domestic violence case against her husband Peter Haag in a Mumbai court, demanding ₹50 crore as compensation for the abuse she says she has suffered over the years.

She approached the Andheri court with a detailed complaint describing emotional, physical and financial abuse, and also sought protection from further harm.

In her petition, Celina has accused Haag of “continuous acts of abuse,” saying that the cruelty included manipulation, mistreatment and physical violence. She has asked the court to grant her compensation for her suffering, mental trauma, loss of income and loss of property that she says occurred because of his behaviour.

Along with the ₹50 crore compensation, Celina has also requested the court to order Haag to pay her ₹10 lakh every month as maintenance. She further asked the court to stop him from selling or transferring any shared assets, to return her jewellery and other personal belongings, and to restrain him from entering their shared household.

The case was first heard on November 21 before the Judicial Magistrate at Andheri, who issued notice to Haag. The matter has now been listed for the next hearing on December 12.

Celina and Haag got married in 2011 in Austria and they have three children together. In her plea, she says that after the marriage, Haag stopped her from working and slowly took away her independence. She has alleged that he destroyed her confidence and identity by controlling every aspect of her life, including her finances.

The complaint specifically states:

“He has systematically decimated the persona of the Complainant and has calculatedly hoodwinked her into giving him control of her assets and finances. He has taken advantage of her by pressurising her to transfer ownership of her residence at Mumbai to his name while she was undergoing severe depression after the death of her newborn child and both parents within a few months of each other.”

Celina’s case explains that during the time she was struggling with deep emotional pain due to the death of her infant and the loss of both her parents, Haag allegedly used her vulnerable condition to take ownership of her property and gain financial control over her.

This case has drawn significant public attention as it highlights serious allegations of domestic abuse, financial exploitation and emotional cruelty within a celebrity marriage. The upcoming hearing is expected to decide the next steps in Celina Jaitly’s legal battle for compensation and protection
